"I Love 'You Love Her Coz Shes Dead'"

I just heard about this sweet sounding duo from our good friends over at DATASAPIENS.net and i couldn’t be more pumped. These guys sound like a fresh Crystal Castles, which is a very welcome thing.

I really think that i have been in need of something weird like this for a while. Admittedly “me versus you” has a pretty trancey background, but i don’t care it still fucking rocks. Hopefully it will be a while before too many entry-level alts catch on to these two.

"Offset Festival Review"

You Love Her Coz She’s Dead: The fittest band of the weekend. This pair are a three hundred mile an hour 8-bit version of the Ting Tings. But better! Huge songs and a non-stop aerobics routine from Elle Dead, who never stops jumping around for a second. Jay Dead is a pretty nifty mover himself, and he has bass and electronic duties too. Exhausting and uplifting. - Call Of The Wyld

"Dead End"

This is the sort of thing which makes one particular member of the Popjustice forum 'squad' tear his hair out but it's also the sort of thing which is VERY GOOD INDEED in a kind of lo-fi electromental screamy pop fashion.

"You Love Her Coz Shes Dead"

Every once in a while I run into a demo that sounds sorta subpar sonically, yet is somehow intriguing, hinting at a bigger untapped potential I usually don’t hear in more traditional, more polished material. This happened to me when I first encountered Late of the Pier last year through their Zarcorp Demo. The same occurred hearing the old demos of Hadouken and Does It Offend You, Yeah.

The mp3 bitrates were complete crap. The vocals were mud. The mixing was atrocious. But there was just something about the sound which captured my always searching ears. There was something that had personality and expressiveness that was much more unique and special than the lots of the other remixes and tunes that perpetually run through my beloved winamp.

You Love Her Coz Shes Dead might be the next one of those groups. Running into them through the wonders of blogland, I think their tune really has alot of potential and really needs an awesome producer to hone the sound into something sonically amazing. But need not worry, avant electro-disco-dance label Kitsune Maison has taken on YLHCSD and is gonna produce their new tracks. Considering their awesome past track record with all their old collections, I’m really stoked to see what becomes of this project.

As for the tune itself, Superheroes is a pretty banging arpeggio frenzy. With driving synths on tempo overdrive, an irresistably catchy chorus with (what sound like guitars), and an awesome sense of pop structure and song sensibility, You Love Her Coz She’s Dead has crafted a pop tune that mainstreams the bizarre artsy tendencies of Crystal Castles into a extroverted indie rock tune that promises to be pretty uber sweet. Check out their myspace for a bunch of other trancey, hyped out, post post post modern indie dance rock. Also included are the original tracks that once vaguely intrigued me of those old acts and what they actually became. And yes, I love these tunes and I anticipate that YLHCSD might become totally sweet. You heard it here first at Straight No Chasa.

"Ambimusic"

Finally we come to headliners You Love Her Coz She’s Dead. Their arrival signals the end to the sofas and the start of a full blown rave. Bass, drums, mad cap female vocals and a laptop, the Trancecore quartet explode with a blast of strobe lights and shrill screams. The dance floor then erupts to this fitness workout meets Super Mario. - Live Music Scene

Bio

You Love Her Coz She's Dead are a boy/girl duo, who sing about superheroes, superheroes and superheroes. They have amassed over a 100 gigs since their inception just over 12months ago and have been described as a ‘fitness workout meets Super Mario" (Live Music Scene 2008).

In early 2008 music & fashion label, Kitsuné invited YLHCSD to be a part of the "Paris" compilation featuring rare & exclusive tracks including Hot Chip, The Chemical Brothers, & Digitalism, released May 2008 in Japan & June in the UK.

They have since featured on Kitsuné Maison 6, released October 2008 & pre-empted their debut EP with European touring including France, Germany & Czech Republic.

‘Imagine if Digitalism and Crystal Castles were asked to make a few tracks together after going on an MDMA binge for a week whilst playing the entire collection of Super Mario Bros games. It wouldn’t even come close to this duo’s trash techno punk efforts’ (Trash Society 2008)

The debut EP 'Inner City Angst' was released in November 2008 through Kitsune and is available now.

The duo are set to feature in season 3 of ‘Skins' which will be aired in the UK in March 2009, with several impending releases set to follow.
