"Sounding like a mix of Regina Spector and Band of Horses..."
"Out of the thirty-seven bands to audition for the rumble, YouMe&theShaker placed first and showed they’d be a name to remember." - Beat Magazine VA
"...the greater effect was the communicated personality. YouMe&theShaker is a personal, organic, friendly band with a sound that, like their stage, feels like home."
- The Breeze
"...the trio delivers something many chill, piano rock three-pieces can’t: interesting music and an engaging live performance."
"Lead by Graham’s pristine voice and impressive keys, the trio is doubtlessly capable of reaching beyond this EP and their Harrisonburg base. The record release was only a glimpse of this group’s ability to capture audiences with their pure and emotionally-loaded sound."
"Every time I walk away from a YouMe&TheShaker show, my confidence is restored in the capability of young artists and in particular female artists." - beyondrace.com

Bio
YouMe&theShaker started out with a few kids and heck of a lot of egg-shakers taped to the extremities. In realizing that duct tape should only be used as a last resort, we're growing into a more full, pop sound.
Our music is melody-driven-- don't be surprised if you find yourself groovin' and dancin' one moment and then holding your breath, the next. Sometimes there's crying. We apologize in advance. Most importantly, connecting with faces in the crowd, and intimate experiences pumps us up.
Notable accomplishments:
YouMe&theShaker beat out nearly 40 top area bands for the grand prize of signing with 80 One Records, the James Madison University record label.
Winner of Blue Nile's Battle of the Bands in Harrisonburg, Va.
