Still working on that hot first release.

Formed in the fall of 2009, You, Me, Baxter & Phil is made up of four young and talented musicians looking to play a key role in today’s music scene.

Matthew and Andrew are lifelong friends who have spent many hours making music together as teenagers, covering greats like Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and The Beatles. They have performed in several groups together, most notably making appearances at the New Orleans Jazz Heritage Festival and opening for world class opera singer, Ben Heppner.

Since their glory days of high school cover performances, Matthew has completed a degree at the University of Western Ontario. Andrew is currently completing a Master of Music degree in Cello Performance at the University of Toronto, after having finished his Bachelor’s degree in 2009. As a gifted cello player from a very young age, it has been rumoured that Andrew’s first words were “Yo-Yo Ma”, a claim that he has neither confirmed nor denied. Andrew and Matthew’s passion to create original music continued to grow, but only recently they found the right combination of musicians to develop, rehearse, and record original songs. Phil and SarahRose joined the duo in the fall of 2009, completing the formation of You, Me, Baxter & Phil. Phil has completed a marketing degree at York University, and has been good friends with the band mates for over a decade. Although a trained guitarist, Phil made the transition to bass, rounding out the band’s rhythm section. SarahRose and Andrew met at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Music where she completed both her Bachelor of Music and Master of Arts degrees. Although SarahRose has a magically soft touch on the keyboard, she is easily the toughest member of the group.

While the group's style is difficult to define, they incorporate a number of elements from different genres, including rock, jazz, folk and classical. In the summer of 2010 they recorded and produced their first set of original songs, which were released the following year as a self-titled EP. 2011 saw You, Me, Baxter & Phil perform in several bars in Toronto, as well as headline a series of summer concerts at venues such as The El Mocambo, The Opera House, and Revival Bar.

Since the summer of 2011, You, Me, Baxter & Phil has been working hard in the rehearsal studio, as well as teaming up with producers Thomas McKay and Ron Saint Germaine to record and release a new EP, which has just been released for streaming on their official website Keep an eye out for more exciting news to come as the summer approaches!
