"Rob Valentine's No Coincidence -Album Review"

On June 24, 2016, hip-hop artist Rob Valentine released his debut album, No Coincidences. While Rob has been on the music scene since 2009, it has taken a bit of time for him to release his official debut album, No Coincidences. Rob Valentine is multi-talented artist from South Dennis, Massachusetts, who makes Hip Hop/Rap/ R&B and Acoustic music. He sings while also playing the guitar and piano.

No Coincidences is a soundcloud exclusive consisting of nine tracks while being released through Light House Music. All original songs are written, recorded, and engineered by Rob. Production work includes beats produced by Drix, Prototyp3 and others. The album has one featured artist, Young Artz on “So Cold”, who hails from the United Kingdom. No Coincidences starts off strong with “No More”, as it’s loud and hits you in the face. The album is similar to much of today’s hip-hop music. It’s a blend of different sounds and tones, as it’s part hip-hop mainly, but r&b at other times. No Coincidences contains a spectrum of topics; relationships, homage for where he’s from (Cape Cod), starting a movement and chasing your dream. No Coincidences is a great platform for Rob to display his depth and abilities as not only an artist, but as a producer and engineer. It’s a positive start for Rob, who’s determined to show that outside of Boston there’s talent and Cape Cod is one of those places that contains a few hidden gems.

Rob answered a few questions in a short Q&A discussing the meaning behind the album name No Coincidences and the driving forces of the album. - Joseph Nelson

"Q & A WITH RAPPER YOUNG ARTZ"

I recently caught up with the Sheffield Rap Artist Young Artz to talk about what great stuff he’s been working on and ask him some questions about how his career is going. He gave me an insight into what inspired him and what’s to come in his future. Read my question and answer on Young Artz’s new work, new collaborations, new ideas and a bit about his background too.

Q&A
When did you decide Music was what you wanted to do for a career?
Music wasn't something I thought I'd be doing in the future. The first time I started freestyling was with a group of friends for fun nothing too serious. But I knew it would be a good career path for me when I started getting good feedback from people and friends. And it just took off from there really

What new music have you been working on and tell me a little bit about your collaborations this year…
Expect a new mixtape to drop mid-August and an album towards the end of the year maybe October times. Also, before that I have many singles & featuring dropping. One of them being the feature with a majority of American artists & producers.

Ball so hard features the amazing Alicia Renee who’s a sing song writer for Roc nation and has written work for huge artists. I’ve also been working with a producer called prototyp3 & Robb Valentine too and we just had a good vibe and the work rate was unbelievable with them. The communication between us just grew from the pure love of music.

How have you found it being a Northern Artist when performing out of your city?
well me coming from the young & restless camp I have only performed out of my own city a number of times. But I feel it's beneficial because every time I perform in a city like Leeds for example, we get love and attention too that later leads to more shows.

Who inspires or inspired you to create music?
I do tent to see myself as a pretty new school person when it comes to music but I definitely been that Hip Hop rappers from the 2000 period inspire me like 50 cent, nelly and timberland for example, as well as British rappers from the beginning of grime like Skepta. I think I really like the way certain artists produce and promote their stuff uniquely – they inspire me.

As a Sheffield Artist do you feel like the city supporta you music?
Yes! As most people say Sheffield can be a small place which it is I feel like everyone does share the music and help each other out whether it's by attending shows purchasing music sharing music or just talking about it in general. Even though we feel like we got love sometimes we do require the little things like interviews & blogs etc. They make the music seem more official that what it is already. It helps everyone get where they wanting to be.

What future work have you got planned or are you hoping to do?
Currently I am working on a mixtape and featured mixtape meaning it will be a mixtape showing my production side! Just me producing beats & getting other artists to perform on them. Essentially giving the artist a platform of instrumentals to perform on. But these won't be out till a later date. For now, it's just singles & features I'm going to be giving out! - Shalikah Walters

Bio

Young Artz is a artist that's well known for styles and flows over distinct types of beats. His choice of music is very different to the majority of the UK music scene but leaves you bopping your head wanting to play more & more. Ever since he started making music he has always had a different way of pursuing himself to the public. For example; As a child he was named after his fathers older brother (Artwell) who had past away few years before so he decided to call himself Young Artz because his real name would be Artwell Junior in the real world.

Ever since he fell in love with music at 13 he has began building his musical portfolio doing many things such as produce, write, film, direct, publish, engineer, edit songs for not only him self but many other artists in his city as well as cities far away.

His first official project he released when he fully formed himself as a artist was a 6 track EP featuring Prince Hekky (Nashé) who has worked with artists such as G Money, Paige Cakey, Inyaya & many more. He then went onto joining Hekky's music group Young & Restless as a producer, artist & engineer as he had learnt many more skills than the most.

This then brought him to where he is now. Currently working on his debut album which will be featuring major artists from UK & US. Currently looking to perform at as many gigs as possible before the release.
