Born in South Florida, a Miami native, Michael Young Yearby learned the importance of integrity, love for family, and excellence in all we do. This led him taking an active role in servicing his country by enlisting into the United States Air Force. While stationed overseas at Kadena AB, Okinawa, Japan the purpose and passion for exceptional musicianship became his charge. He explains I always enjoyed composing poetry in different formats, but never thought I was any good. But, all that changed when he started to share his poetry with the inmates at the Camp Hansens Correctional Facility during the weekly Brig Christian Fellowship (BCF) conducted by Pastor Dominic Guerra. The inmates enjoyed the poetry; so much in fact, Michael started to perform his poetry, free styling at various street evangelism concerts which caught the eye of local Hip-Hop Producer Kenny Williams of Outta Step Music. This collaboration brought forth the EP known as The Shinobis Son. The EP spawned seven tracks that were received well within the Hip-Hop community being featured in nine countries and received over 20,000+ plays/downloads world-wide in the fall of 2010. That experience allowed Michael to self-produce Beautiful Muzik Mixtape Vol. 1 and Gaijin EP, as well as the time to experiment musically, defining him as a breakout artist. He reflects There was a lot of trials and tribulations that went into making the records. The songwriting became more personal, and that was reflected in every lyric in the recordings. I recorded about twenty-nine songs for both of the projects combined while only twelve were chosen with five interludes by Pastor Rick Barnett for Beautiful Muzik and four were chosen with one instrumental track for Gaijin. I spent months perfecting my sound, refining and defining my music until I thought it was just right. That gave Michael notoriety as innovative Hip-Hop artist with depth and integrity for his rhyming and writing abilities in the fall of 2011, which Michael performed under the stage name M.Y. Tha Vizion before simply changing it to Young. Michael is currently stationed at McConnell AFB, Wichita, Kansas. He recently released New Reality EP and the project has been highlighted on websites (Rapzilla, Absolute Punk, etc) and received considerable national radio play on seven radio stations and one radio network (House FM, WREH, WPOZ, etc). Michael states Music, my music has always been and will always be an expression of freedom, freedom to explore the very chambers of Gods Heart. Freedom to shout, freedom to dance, freedom that was freely given by another, explored by few and documented by many. My music is not bounded by culture preference or industry standards but is centered on the life of a broken and humbled man.
