Bio

With the infusion of original compositions, the trio has developed a following of both old and young alike. Collectively the band has performed in more than 30 countries as well as most major jazz venues throughout the United States. With their debut recording “Tales of Time”, the Young Brothers trio has successfully established a “sound” that appeals to the most critical of listeners. The band has been recently named as "Artists in Residence" at the acclaimed Strathmore Music Center. Recent performances consist of appearances at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival, Fall into the Arts Festival, Lucketts Fair, twins Jazz Club, Shenandoah University Jazz concert series as well as other venues throughout the eastern coastal region.

Tim Young - Piano
Pianist/composer Tim Young is starting to make his mark in the jazz world. After completing his education at the University of North Texas, Tim returned back to the east coast to serve as pianist with the Army Jazz Ambassadors of Washington, D.C. Tim has held this position for the past seven years. Tim has performed extensively throughout the entire United States, and has performed in Japan, China, and Germany. Tim is a sought out player because of his ability to adapt to any musical situation. His style covers just about all. Tim has performed with Ray Anderson, Steve Swallow, Charles McPhearson, "Doc" Cheatham, Rebecca Parris, Joe LaBarbera, Lou Marini, Ben Vereen, Greg Gisbert, and Slide Hampton.

Alphonso M. Young, Jr. - Drums
Drummer/percussionist, Alphonso M. Young, Jr. has been a professional musician for more than 18 years. His versatile and imaginative style of performance has not only charmed audiences around the world, but has lead such noted artists as Randy Brecker, Bob Berg, George Colligan, Giacomo Gates, Buck Hill, Etta Jones, Ira Sullivan, Othello Molineaux, Rebecca Parris, and Jon Secada to acquire his talent. He has also performed with trumpeter/composer Alan Baylock, World renowned DJ Kevin Yost, Smooth Jazz artist Brad Clements, Benny Powell, Miles Griffith and jazz diva Vanessa Rubin, as well as many other luminaries of the jazz world.

Recent international tours include: Bolivia, Chile, Columbia, Dubai, Estonia, Italy, Honduras, Peru, Switzerland, Trinidad and the Caribbean.

Live performances include appearances at the East Coast Jazz Festival, the Capital Jazz Festival, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Blues Alley as well as numerous musical venues throughout the United States.
