Young Distractions formed in a Midwest winter, which is a perfect way of describing their sound: the sound you get from a punk rock n roll three-piece straight out of Chicago. Young Distractions played their first show in December of 2011 at Chicago's Lincoln Hall and in less than 3 months has played at Double Door, Bottom Lounge and Beat Kitchen as well. They take the John Lennon "Instant Karma" approach to recording, which is to - as Nick Lowe once said - "bang it down and tart it up later." They have already recorded and released - for free, as they intend all of their recorded music to be - 4 songs and will be releasing a 12" vinyl in June, of which 3 of the songs are included for your perusal here. Not bad for their first 5 months.
