Young Edward

Young Edward

Our music usually sounds like bluegrass but with skewed lyrics touching on everything from special relativity theory to alien abductions to battery-powered footwear. This is not your grandma's bluegrass.

Their moms tell them they sing just like li’l angels … and it’s true! Wielding shimmery three-part harmonies augmented with blistering instrumental breaks, Young Edward has spent eight years building a House of Country Music in New Mexico that’s strong enough to withstand the huffing and puffing of the biggest, baddest lobo around.

Playing a mix of skewed traditional and original tunes, Young Edward often meanders far outside the bluegrass genre. Yet even in such moments, they always remain true to the spirit of the music they love. Despite the occasional reference to serial killings and devil worship, Young Edward is especially popular with children under six.

Young Edward has released two CDs: An instrumental disc called "Dirty Blankets" (2008) and a collection of original songs called "Tall Tales" (2009).
