Bio

Y.G. aka Young Greatness, born Theodore Jones began his rap career ten years ago. With the passing of his father in early 2000 Young Greatness had two important decisions to make, either tackle the life of a street hustler or provide a better life for his family that wouldn’t lead to a life of crime. At that point he realized he wanted to become a major Hip-Hop artist. He would spend countless hours writing and rehearsing his raps till the early morning hours to enhance his skills. Many of his peers realized after awhile that the young kid from the St. Bernard Housing Projects had great talent and could possibly make it big. Y.G. is musically influenced by artists like Jay-Z, which helped guide his soul to write from the heart and experience.

In 2006 after the major disaster that hurricane Katrina brought to the city of New Orleans, Y.G. was to move to Houston. There Y.G. along with a few friends pooled funds to pay for studio time in major studios where he caught the attention of major artists, such as Bun B and Mike Jones. Y.G.’s big break came soon after when he was discovered by a production group named “The Bomb Squad”, who has worked with music legends like Michael Jackson, Will Smith, and Jay Z. They recognized the hard work and dedication Young Greatness brought to the music industry and signed him on the spot.

Present day, Y.G. is currently in the studio working on his upcoming debut album “Rich and Famous”. He is ready to show the world and the music industry the type of artist he truly is. Artistic diversity is rare in Hip-Hop these days, but Y.G.’s numerous talent has caught the attention of industry execs. He is on the verge of becoming the industry force he dreamed of not so long ago. “Million Dollar Dreams takes a dedicated Team” Greatness.

His marketing strategy, led by team, MILE HIGH, is to increase Y.G.’s visibility and growth within this industry. So far, this team has exposed the growth of Y.G.’s club fan base, showcase fan base, bloggers, radio and print media. Young Greatness has sold well over 10,000 mix tapes. He averages 3-4 appearance a week (300 patrons per show) and has surpassed over 500k views on YouTube as of February 15, 2012.

As time goes on and the journey expands, Y.G. bolsters his dedication in proving why he's one of the best to come out of the city of New Orleans and no matter what comes your way, with a little perseverance, any goal can be reached.
