Feeling a bit camera shy

With over a decade of experience in hip-hop, Jose Reyes aka Young Jabez is a veteran on the microphone. He started rapping at the age of 12 then started producing music at 16. Soon afterwards Jabez became Alaska's #1 selling rap artist, still holding that record to this day. Young Jabez, formely known as Baby-J, grew up in the rough streets of Anchorage, Alaska during the time when gang violence and drug activity was at an all time high. It was those days that gave Young Jabez the street savvy and experience that would eventually land him in constant trouble with the law. It was those same experiences that he would later use to reach out to people in these same situations. Now at age 26, Jabez has a passion for the youth with the hope of reaching them before they even choose that path. "Prevention is the best defense..." says Young Jabez . With his long history in hip-hop coupled with fine philisophical/theological training, Jabez has developed an incredibly sound performance and speaking ability that has helped him tremendously when communicating his message. Young Jabez does not discriminate when it comes to the amount of people he is called upon to perform for, as he has performed in front of groups ranging from 10, to crowds of thousands. With over 50+ concerts and events perfromed within this last year alone, Jabez has performed alongside top names in the holy hip-hop movement at Flavor Fest 2006 in Tampa, Florida while assisting CMC in performance. Jabez also performed at Rock Fest 2005, 2006 and Wonder Land Festival 2006 in Wasilla, Alaska...the three biggest events geared towards reaching the youth in Alaska. He will also be performing at the Great Alaska Hip-Hop Explosion 2007 in Anchorage, Alaska alongside Beatmart Recording artists Willie Will, Soul P and Pettidee. Young Jabez is currently working on his next album projected to be released in mid 2007. Young Jabez is married to his wife Anna, he is a father of 4 children and is an active member of his church Change Point in Anchorage, Alaska where he volunteers and assists with the youth group.
