Bio

Young Juve

In the midst of a southern revolution that is taking hip-hop by storm; one Graceland native is seeking to change what it now means to be the man behind the music. From a D.J. to a producer to an engineer and even a song writer, Young Juve has proven to be a Jack of all trades.
Coming up on the north side of Memphis, Tennessee Juve recalls being interested in music from an early age. “I really became interested in music about 8 years ago." says the 20 year old who two years later at the age of 14 began creating and distributing his own mixtapes. Getting his start behind the boards with engineers working with numerous soul legends, Juve quickly came into his own as an engineer.
Engineering as an intern for Memphis’ own New Jack Records, Juve went from intern to running the boards in two short days. “They couldn’t believe I was so young and knew what I did” says Juve. This keen knowledge of the studio led Juve to work with local Memphis artists such as The Prophet Posse and DJ Squeaky. But please don’t get it confused for Juve coming of age in Memphis was no cake walk. “Being as young as I was in the game it made it harder on me because in Memphis they expect you to be an adult, u understand? No one is going to give you anything, so I had to grind even harder.” And the work paid off.
Juve flexed his local muscles during a radio contest in Memphis, which he won leading him to score the box office hit movie Hustle and Flow. And at a summer jam concert in Memphis, which featured So So Def recording artists Dem Franchise Boyz, Juve was asked to join DFB on the tour bus. It was on that bus that he met Jermaine Dupri. “I had a beat CD playing on the bus when he walked in” and the rest was history. Following that initial introduction to JD Juve was asked to come to work in Dupri’s Atlanta studio.

From producing 5 tracks on Dem Franchise Boyz upcoming album to Producing Freddy P’s (Formerly of Da Band) new single, Juve has remained humble. Juve whose laundry list of artists he’s worked with include SunNY, Ying Yang Twins, is still focused on becoming producer of the year one day as well as inspiring his people that they too can make it.
Young Juve has grinded in the background of the music scene for long enough, and now with Jermaine Dupri backing him, he really stands to become the man behind the music.
