Young Kings: In a new area of Hip Hop and R&B, where artist are challenged to do much more than rap/sing and dance, Young Kings (Christyles and Aaron Anthony) are stepping to the throne as musics new sovereigns. Crafting a sound that is relevant to today’s radio popular demand, but still rooted in the resonances from generations well beyond their years; Young Kings is revitalizing what has been missing in Hip Hop and R&B.
Hailing from Sacramento California, Young Kings have waited a long time to make their mark in an ever-changing industry. Developing his skills at only 13, Christyles now at 21 has produced for artist such as David Banner, Plies, C-Bo, R&B legend Karyn White, and girl group icons, SWV. Leaving a deal with Universal Records to start his own label, Equal Music Group, he is ready to work with the best artist in the game. Aaron Anthony is one of the best, and he makes it clear on every track. With lyrics that speak, Aaron Anthony’s writing comes from a place that is real. Growing up in foster care homes with no family, music has always been his outlet. In his 23 years, he has faced many struggles that would have stopped most, but instead has bread him to triumph, and is felt on songs like “Kill My High?” off the upcoming Young Kings project.
Young Kings musical influences include greats like Mint Condition, Queen, Gap Band, Sly Family Stone, James Brown, Steely Dan, Jaco Pastorius, Musiq Soulchild, Dr Dre, Dogg Pound, Wiz Khalifa, Kanye West, Too Short, Tupac, Mob Deep, Usher, and Kendrick Lamar.
