Young Lyxx: Label Him-New, Talented, and ready Take Over
A California kid, infused with a new sound from the south may be a seemingly difficult genus to grasp. But to Young Lyxx it is all too natural. With his early acquaintance with underground music genres, refreshingly pure talent, and his unbridled hard work makes Young Lyxx the new and demanding kid to keep your eyes and ears on.

Lennix “Young Lyxx” Nelson Rogers Jr., born a true 80s baby in southern California, grew up listening to the popular sounds of the late 80s/early 90s. Although, his family moved to New Orleans when he was 6 years old, there he was first introduced to “bounce music.” He began to write his own (age friendly) lyrics to the super energetic beats that Bounce is known for.

After his return to San Diego, California at age 11 he was hooked on being in the studio. Between school and basketball, Lyxx worked diligently on his first recorded CD. Two years later, he was introduced to the stage for the first time-during a school talent competition he received overwhelmingly positive feedback, which confirmed his suspicion that this is what he was born to do.

Still at a young age, Lyxx, 16, began linking up with other artists. His first professionally mixed song titled, “Wait A Minute” featured rappers Aaron “Ta’Ea$t” Evans and Cairo McGee. The three clicked and eventually brought Mark “Chicago” Beard into the operation. Soon after, Lyxx worked on an album recording with close friend, James “jBoy” Daniels. jBoy, an up and coming producer, introduced Lyxx to engineering and producing and from there Lyxx picked up his own unique recording habits.

Lyxx acceptance to Clark Atlanta University encouraged a move to the Peachtree state. While juggling the demands of college and a mentorship with rapper and former NFL player, Reggie “Famouz” Stephens, Lyxx has stamped the crowd on numerous occasions at Atlanta venues including Club Cenci, Lenny’s Bar, 595, the Bench, and recently rocked the crowd at the 2nd annual Atlanta Indie Music and Arts Festival.

With the constant study of his craft Young Lyxx states, “being perfect is impossible, but I want to be as close as I can get.” Lyxx plans to introduce a new sound to the industry and with a successful mixtape (Top Heavy Music vol. 1: THE MIXTAPE), climaxing to 850,000 plays on Myspace (www.myspace.com/younglyxx), and his EP "Label Me" (www.datpiff.com/Young_Lyxx__Label_Me) dropping early summer, he is confident that his music is ready to be heard by the discerning ears of the world. “When I make my way into the game, I’m bringing my bags to settle in, because I’m not going anywhere.” His enthusiasm topped off with talent makes all those who have come into contact with him, BELIEVE that he is here to stay!
