Bio

Young Sam "The Hitman" is the newest hip-hop artist from the Northside of Dallas, Texas. The help of social networking and word of mouth has made a steady momentum of followers with his hit song "Dallas Stand Up." His first mixtape "Dallas Block Party" further proves the existence of a solid fan base with over 2400 views and over 400 streaming listens. As he is set to release his second mixtape "True Stories of Young Sam," the future is starting to look promising for this rising artist.

Sam "Young Sam" Austin was born in Saginaw, Michigan. He was introduced to music through the tunes of his father's guitar. During his adolescent years, the whole family decided to move to Dallas, Texas after his parents divorced. It is in Dallas where he was introduced to new styles of music. He went on to join his elementary school's band to play the baritone and trombone. Hip Hop was a big influence during his late elementary years as he listened to artists like Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Outkast, Ludacris, and Eminem.
In middle school, Sam began to acquaint himself with R&B music to the likings of Usher, Ginuwine, and Boys 2 Men.
After a few years of reconciliation, Young Sam's parents decided to separate. He moved back to Saginaw with his mother and sister
The difficulty for his mother to find a steady job was the pre cursor for what the arduous journey would have to succumb to in Saginaw. He lived in a neighborhood engaged in drugs, violence, and gang life. The help of extra-curricular activities kept him off the streets as he was involved in almost every sport his school offered. He also joined the choir at his local church.
At one time, during a game of basketball, a dispute rose between Sam's team and the other team. A fight broke out and Sam was threatened at gun point. Fortunately, Sam escaped that situation unscathed. his house was broken into while he was in school later that year.
Sam was attracted to a girl he met in seventh grade. It was difficult to stay in touch once he moved to Michigan, but she consistently kept in contact while he was in Saginaw. Sam's feelings for this girl were so strong that during sophomore year in high school, he moved back to Dallas with his father. Reunited with his girlfriend now, he decided to make the most of his stay in Texas by reuniting with all his friends from his past. He met with his best friend Octavio "KRuNKTaViO" Samano. Octavio is Sam's friend that lived in the same apartment complex during the elementary school years. Things were looking up until bad news struck again.
Overwhelmed with bills, Sam and his father were evicted from their apartment. Sam asked friends and family for help. His church was able to help him find a place with a family. Sam graduated from high school and went on to college. Sam ended his relationship with his long time girlfriend shortly after high school. At age 19, Sam began a career in Jiu Jitsu, a Brazilian Martial Art. His life consisted of fighting in tournaments and waiting tables for extra money, but life changed when his girlfriend at the time informed Sam that they were having a baby. Sam found it difficult to balance a job, a martial art career, and care for his newborn son, so he put Jiu Jitsu on hold.
During a visit to Octavio's house, to introduce his newborn boy, Sam noticed that Octavio had acquired plenty of equipment for a music studio. When Sam asked, "What is all this stuff for?" Octavio replied, "I DJ and Produce beats now." Octavio had a small entertainment group. Sam thought it would be a great idea if he would join the group on a few songs. He did that and received positive response at local shows. In 2010, Sam and Octavio "KRuNKTaViO" decided to work on a new project starring the newest member to KRuNKTaViO's team, Young Sam! Since then, Young Sam has performed at different venues throughout the Dallas Fort Worth area, released two mixtapes, balanced work and care for his son.
