Younique

Younique aka Little Madoo aka Singa Doo is a chief song writer and executive producer of all his songs. He is a Jamaican Canadian born in the parish of St. Andrews Jamaica. He is known by his fans as the man with the powerful and enchanting voice. Younique is one of the most original singers ever to come out of Toronto’s Dancehall scene. He is a veteran in his profession. He is respected by his peers and loved and admired by his fans in every part of the world. Younique knew his calling of becoming a singer at the age of twelve when he started singing in churches. According to Younique, “I knew from the first time I stood up in church and sang. I realized that singing would be my destiny. I have never stopped singing since” After immigrating to Toronto as a young boy at the age of eleven, he was shy but loved to sing. “Singing is my life. I sang every chance I got. I would listen to the radio and when I heard all the popular songs I would sing along with them, even making up songs.” At the age of thirteen with the urging of the now popular Toronto radio personality Sir B of CHRY 105.5FM Cool Runnings radio program, Younique entered in Bathurst Heights Secondary School talent show and won. All shyness disappeared from that day on. He later entered and won other local talent shows, which was his first taste of stardom…And he loved it! After graduating from high school, singing and song writing became his way of life. At the time friends started calling Younique "Little Madoo" because of his voice’s unmistakable resemblance to the popular artist Dancehall Singer Madoo. Since then he has matured into a seasoned entertainer with his own “Younique” singing style and sweet electrifying voice. With his impressive technique Younique began making a name for him self on the Toronto concert and Dancehall scene. In the late 80’s and 90’s he performed at numerous venues and charity events and shared the stage with international artist such as: Sanchez, Singing Melody, Thriller U, Beres Hammond, Frankie Paul, Alton Ellis, Johnny Osborne, Barrington Levy, Dan Angelo, Wayne Wonder, Malibu, Tony Curtis, Trevor Sparks, Coutney Melody and Jackie James. He gave a smashing performance they would never forget, receiving standing ovations and encores. Younique then took a break to concentrate on being a father and to raise his three talented daughters. (All three girls have inherited their father’s talent) During this time he never gave up his calling. He is now back on the music scene and has been in the studio recording new original songs for his fans listening enjoyment. Younique is a hard working entertainer who only strives to be the best and never stops giving.
