"You vs Me Live @ The Horseshoe - Jan 14, 2011"

Sprawling, hook-driven rock, that's strewn with supercharged guitars, soaring vocals, and a catchy, anthemic spirit. Riff-friendly and adventurous. Onwards and upwards for the band. - Lonely Vagabond - Exclaim! Writer

The Story
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Having been brought together by accidentally enduring a toxic chemical spill while at work in 2004, vocalist Chris P and guitarist Mykle spent the subsequent years crafting the anthemic, pop-literate sound that would come to be known as You vs Me.’ “While working, there was this chemical leak, some extreme form of bleach. We got the hell out of there and decided to go jam. It wasn't until then that we realized we’d grown up around the corner from each other. It all seems like the perfect script for a comic book,” amuses Mykle.
“We have some unlikely but terrific chemistry; Chris comes from a folky/roots rock background, and I loved metal and hard rock growing up. You vs Me became the blending of hard-rock bravado with folk rock sensibilities. It’s a lot of fun to for us to play… it’s like, pop-punk done on a larger scale courtesy of the abilities of their rhythm section. Drummer, Curly, was Mykle's university dorm-mate's cousin and introduced into the band thusly, and has a very aggressive drumming manner about him courtesy of his heavyweight influences, TB & the Rev. Bass player, David Q Pyle is the newest addition to YvM, and also comes from a pop/punk/Metal background, brings a lot of intensity and bar-raising energy.
Songwriting is most often spontaneous for You vs Me, deriving most of the new material from Jam sessions. "We all contribute ideas equally which just seems to be the most natural way for us to do it.”
You vs Me's current catalogue consists of over 30 songs, and the band is anxious to get back on the road and show people what the new You vs Me is all about. With their substantial minds and unmatched enthusiasm, You vs Me are destined to make their unique brand of alt-pop-punk rock resonate within hearts and minds across the world.
The Latest
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In the last year, You vs Me have independently secured consistent rotation and charted at many indie and college radio stations across North America with their new songs “Break” and “Said and Done” off newest EP, “The Book Of…”, and garnered international licensing and notoriety with “What I See” and “Going Home” from their 2009 debut EP, “The Borrowed”.

It was announced in late August 2012 that You vs Me have been included as a Top Ten most requested artist of the year with the song 'Said and Done' on KGUP 106.5 in Los Angeles. We were also just retired as Music Challenge Champions on the Wise Radio Music Challenge, placing first for three weeks straight with our song 'Said and Done' in October 2012.

We recently released three Official Lyric Videos for songs from our latest EP "The Book Of...".

2010 brought You vs Me nationwide college radio rotation (charting at #1 at a few of them), 3 tours of the Ontario-Maritimes corridor, a Feature on CBC Radio 1’s “Mainstreet”, Feature on CHSR97.9fm's "Sessions" (to name just a few credits) and now, You vs Me are now setting up to surpass that success with their Sophomoric EP release, “The Book of ...”, follow-up to 2009’s, The Borrowed (Recorded at Toronto’s Phase One Studios and Produced by Bob Gallo).

This time around, they’ve re-crafted the You vs Me sound to be more aggressive, more melodic, more technical, and more awesome. Though the band – in its current configuration – has only been together since January 2010, they sound and feel much more focused, creative and ambitious than your average band of travelling musicians, producing 2 of their own music videos so far, one of which was done in claymation, using over 27,000 photos to complete. And three new Lyric Videos to help support their latest release.

“These upstarts wield guitar-driven energy with a youthful, freewheeling spirit ready to make their mark. Hooks/harmonies meeting soaring driving indie rock is proof that the formula continues to work as well as getting you movin’.”
