Y.R Generation

Memphis, TN was named after the Egyptian city of Memphis, which means, "City of the Dead". There's a social stigma here that is reflective of the city's etymology, especially when it comes to Hip-Hop. Rather than conform to the majority here, the five of us (Conscious Leo, R.E Double, Mackabre, C-Stilla & Jun10r) decided to come together as one eclectic group and call ourselves, "Y.R Generation". Our name is a play on the question, "Why our generation" and since we our all Generation Y babies and Gen Y happens to play an integral part in a lot of current society's issues, it's only fitting that we use music to not only express our perspectives, but provide solutions and educate as we battle back again the machines that produce these glass ceilings and misconceptions
