San Bernardino is a city most rap fans outside of southern California might not immediately recognize, but’s it’s a cutthroat-producing, gritty, blighted wasteland of a city that’s just as grimy as the most active LA and Compton locales. So, it’s only right that the area’s community of rappers is starting to bubble and build. With talents such as the acid-tongued Vito and Nipsey Hussle-and-Pushaz-Ink-co-signed Staxx progressing as rappers and beginning to build formidable reputations with street and internet-based audiences, here’s a well-constructed full-length effort from one of the Dino’s hardest-working emcees, Yung Koop. I Am Legend features 13 new tracks from the San Bernardino street-soldier, with one lone feature coming courtesy of fellow local lyricist Zilla. The hip-hop scene in the Inland Empire region of California may have received its most attention from Audio Push and the HS87 crew, but this next breed of rappers boasts the talents and visionaries who will put the Inland Empire’s biggest city on the map.
