Yung Mar

Some people are born to run their course in life and some are born to make history. “I’m not a rapper, I’m an artist. I paint pictures with my words,” states Yung Mar in regards to his craft. Yung Mar is a talented and incredible artist and leader of up and coming A-List Music group, a group of artists and promoters trying to make a splash in the rap game. Marsalis “Yung Mar” Taylor was born July 19th, 1989 in Newark, NJ and raised in Scotch Plains, NJ, a small suburb in central jersey.
Taylor started his rap career at the tender age of fourteen and with each year has continued to develop his lyrical skills ability. He has a gift of creating catchy hooks for not only himself, but for others he ghostwrites for. His delivery has improved as well, citing his improvement with his new ability to memorize his verses without writing a thing down, allowing him to focus on his flow on song s
 While attending Norfolk State University, Mar met other A List artists J- Flow and West Kartel. They realized that with collaboration of such great talent, they could become a musical force to reckon with. In September of 2008 collectively Yung Mar, J Flow, and West Kartel started A List, which has in house talented rappers and singers. At the young age of 20, Yung Mar became the President of A-List Music Group.
After his return to Jersey, Mar brought the A-List brand with him and added more artists to the roster, including former 106 and park freestyle champion Dialysus. Although he wanted jersey-bred artists in his music group, he did not forget his Virginia collaborators. Yung Mar and J-Flow created a joint album of rap and R&B entitled, “Road to Stardom’’ released October 9th, 2008. Recorded in only forty-eight hours, “Road to Stardom” was well-received by fans and became one of the hottest mix tapes in the streets. Continuing on with his non-stop grind and hardwork, Yung Mar recorded his first solo mixtape, “Planet Mar’’ which was released on December 25, 2009.
Planet Mar received a lot of attention and love from fans, with hits like “Road 2 Stardom” and “Drop It Low”. Aside from being an artist, Yung Mar writes songs and produces music for fellow A List artists. Carefully he chose each and every artist to be apart of his high class music group. Taylor is on his road to stardom and will dominating the music industry before you know it.
Derek ‘’Dialysus’’ Simmons 106 and park freestyle Friday champion, co-signs that Yung Mar is talented and is on his way to the top. As we can see Taylor is like no other artist.
Taylor is staying focused, still working on his music and putting in a hundred percent of dedication in promoting his music group A List. He is also hard at work recording his debut album ‘’Life on Mars’’, which is looking at a release 4th quarter 2010.
With A List promotion group behind him, Yung Mar is the future of not only New Jersey music, but is looking forward to taking the whole rap scene by storm. Yung Mar is a star in the making!
