Yung Mieo-Bio
Yung Mieo (pronounced Young Me-Yo) is the young pop phenom on a mission to eliminate bullying and celebrate individuality. Born and bred in “Hot-lanta”, he’s easily recognized by his trademark mohawk, round framed specs and flashy smile. Yet, behind Yung Mieo’s charismatic persona is a constant drive to make a difference.
Yung Mieo has been rhyming since the age of four, but at nine, tragedy forced him to put emphasis and purpose behind his lyrics. When his sister’s best friend committed suicide as a result of bullying, Yung Mieo realized that this was not a personal issue, but rather a community problem. Through that experience, Yung Mieo created his own “No Bullying” campaign, and thus, began a movement.
Yung Mieo’s message is simple, “You can stay in school, be respectful, make straight A’s and still be cool. You don't have to be like a bully. Just be you! Bullying is NOT cool!” His message quickly caught fire amongst his friends and now, he influences hundreds whenever he grabs the mic.
His first music video “Nothing Like You” debuted on BET’s 106& Park. Just recently, he wrapped the video for his follow up anthem, “I’m A Star” which features “The Game’s” Pooch Hall, “Meet the Browns’” David Mann, and Kel Mitchell of “Kenan and Kel” fame.
Yung Mieo is a pint sized warrior in the fight against bullying. But like the old cliché goes, big things come in small packages.
