Yung Mikz

Darrell Rolle a.k.a. Kid Major
began his long life?s quest with music at the age of eight
playing the drums in his familys band while at the same
age, his cousin Landon Anderson a.k.a. Bonafide
manifested his love for music by singing but quickly
realized that hip-hop was where his heart was. Derek Williams a.k.a. Tazz came to his
epiphany at an earlier age, writing his first song in the 3rd grade and started rapping at the age of six. Both Kid Major and Bonafide decided to showcase their passion for rhyming early on and formed the group L.B.C. (Lil Ballers Crew) in the 7th grade. Consequent to meeting each other, neither Tazz nor Bonafide realized each others potential until entering a 9th grade freestyle battle competition together. Everyone went on to doing their own thing for the next year or so. Kid Major played basketball for their high school team while Bonafide and Tazz continued with music but mainly focused on school. They finally came together their junior year of high school to form what is now known as YUNG MIKZ which is in fact, the pinnacle of ? PHLITE TEAM, a collective group of rappers, producers, and singers, also formed by the group members. In the midst of everyday rap music and an environment of complacency, YUNG MIKZ describe their
style as a ?new school vibe with and old school state of mind. Being first fans of music and then artists, Kid Major, Bonafide, and Tazz view themselves as? One voice for the people, destined to speak/spitt knowledge by way of the mic. When asked to sum themselves up, they collectively reply, Our music is a testament of what we feel and live.
