"Yung Texxus: Hold The Flag High"

No other genre of music is as fixated on an artist?s home as Hip-Hop. Whether it?s the North, South, East or West, it?s up to a rap artist to represent where they?re from and show the world how it goes down in their region. Killeen, Texas emcee, Yung Texxus, clearly understands this notion. - Allhiphop.com

Bio

Southern music has conquered the world of hip hop and become the consumer favorite in such a short period of time. However, the climax is far from over as Yung Texxus a.k.a. Mista Green enters the scene, introducing a new level of versatility while rejuvenating a sound the rap game has been missing. Born in Germany and raised in Killeen, Texas, Yung Texxus was introduced to an eclectic range of music in his own home with a mother who was an aspiring singer and uncle who was in an upcoming rap group during an era where hip hop was premature and never tampered with. He took an immediate liking to being an artist, as his uncle would compose verses for him to recite. This instantaneously ignited Texxus’ passion as he wrote his first rap in the fifth grade. Always a huge Jay-Z fan as well as OutKast, UGK and T.I., he was able to absorb these diverse sounds and master his own skill beyond just making words rhyme but rather personalizing every track for the ear of each listener.

After graduating HIgh School, Texxus moved to his family’s original hometown to attend his first year at Delaware State University in Dover, Delaware.

However, he soon realized that attempting to steer his focus anywhere but music was virtually impossible as a day of class would center in on original rap concepts.

He knew he had to move forward with his passion wholeheartedly. From then on the studio became his first home as he recorded track after track, appearing on various mixtapes with some of the top DJs around the country; setting a consistent buzz and level of anticipation among the streets. In 2008, Texxus reintroduced himself to the world as a solo artist, dropping Throw Aways Vol. 1 and 2 on the internet for his fans to access, generating a devoted following.

Dominating his craft and creating his own lane of lyricism, Yung Texxus has managed to collaborate with the likes of Mannie Fresh, Bei Major, Scram Jones, Scarface, Yung Joc and Keri Hilson to name a few. A southern favorite and soon to be a household name worldwide, he receives constant radio play all over the country and is currently nominated for five Southern Entertainment Awards such as “Independent Artist of the Year” and “Song of the Year.” Texxus has become more than an artist but an overall brand, writing and producing for his own artists including KO and State City Music.

When asked where he saw himself in five years, Texxus replied, “I plan to be an executive. Hopefully by that time I would have dominated the rap game, dropping four to five albums so I can be more behind the scenes and focusing on producing.” With the highly anticipated mix-album Throw Aways Vol. 3- The Final Chapter soon to hit the main stage, Yung Texxus is an artist to become better acquainted with as he is bringing an intoxicating style that caters to both men and women; hip hop’s new phenomenon.
