The best kept secret in music

Do you want to do something non-Vegasy for a change? Then come to the Boston Bar & Grill at 1030 E. Flamingo Road tonight to hear local acoustic singer-songwriters Yvonne Ramage and Sara Patterson.
Ramage describes her music as a cross between Joni Mitchell and Talking Heads. Her voice is as strong as her lyrics and guitar playing. Her three-song debut EP, Sessions, features "Show and Tell," "Show Me" and "So Far," three melodic pieces that take the love song to a different level. You won't hear clichés in Ramage's music. Her sound is polished, with light percussion augmenting her strumming.
Patterson, a native Texan, honed her music at open mics in Austin and boardwalks in California. Her lyrics feature political irony and potshots at the pop music industry; in fact, her label is Commercial Whore Records. Her style has been described as "acoustic punk."
Come out and support the local music scene and hear some great stuff. Admission: $5. Info: 702-368-0750. --M.M.
