Zac Kellogg is an Americana singer-songwriter from Austin Texas.

Biography

REVIVAL SUN, Zac Kellogg's newest E.P captures the true spirit of the lonesome songwriter. While his song Architect of Evil romanticizes the Texas landscape akin to a Cormac McCarthy novel, the gritty personal stories are what really pervade the album. In his autobiographical song Along The Way, the twenty-three year old pleads himself to not look at life through fatalistic eyes, but rather to accept the cards he has been dealt. From beginning to end, Zac's smokey yet razor-edged voice resonates more than ever on this album. With songs as malleable as the Texas clay, the songs on Revival Sun go just as well with a beer on the porch as they do on a long stretch of country highway.

Lyrics

Lightning Strike

Written By: Zac Kellogg

Drain the blood from my guilty face white as wine, white as wine
Throw a white sheet over my prideful mind, my mind
My heart had turned to stone when you stole me from the riverbed
With an outlaw heart and your touch like porcelain, porcelain

You're the result of a brewing sky
You're the evidence that worlds collide
For better or for worse, I know it sometimes hurts
But don't hold back your lightning strike

Hold my hand while we watch the fire go out, go out
Take my secrets I don't want my secrets now, not now

My blood was running cold when you found me on the frozen ground
You were holding me close when the rain started pouring down, pouring down

You're the result of a brewing sky
You're the evidence that worlds collide
For better or for worse, I know it sometimes hurts
But don't hold back your lightning strike

I don't need shelter tonight, I need your lightning strike, strike
I don't need shelter tonight, I need your lightning strike, strike

You're the result of a brewing sky
You're the evidence that worlds collide
For better or for worse, I know it sometimes hurts
But don't hold back your lightning strike

Let Me Make It Easy

Let Me Make It Easy

Leave your glasses on the table
Leave your boots right where they are
We’re not leaving this room til’’ we’re through
This is not some party
And I’m not some piece of art
This is not your audience you're talking’ too

Keep your hands where I can see em’
keep the good book in the drawer
the words you read from a dog-eared page aren’t yours
You can chalk it up to freedoms
but we know it’s so much more
Are we keeping count of something that can’t be scored

Let me make it easy for you
Easy to walk out the room
Easy to turn away from everything you knew
Let me make it easy for you
Easy to say what's on your mind
Who knew that moving into your world
meant losing mine
Let me make it easy for you

Is it raining’ where you are
Did you stop off at some bar
Is that cover band still strumming’ those guitars

Your sister won’t stop calling
And blowing up my phone
Should I just pick up and say you’re not comin’ home

Let me make it easy for you
Easy to walk out the room
Easy to turn away from everything you knew
Let me make it easy for you
Easy to say what's on your mind
Who knew that moving into your world
Meant breaking mine
Let me make it easy for you

Instrumental break

Leave your glasses on the table
Leave your boots right where they are
We’re not leaving this room til’ we’re through
