Born and raised in Columbus OH, Zachary Muhamad a.k.a. Zac Fresh didn’t necessarily have an easy childhood. Born June 30, to an African-American mother and a Somalian (in which he speaks fluently) father, this young, talented, and “fresh” 18 year-old had to learn and defend for himself at an early age. At just the tender age of 7, Zac lost his mother. He found this time to be very d
ifficult for him because he believed that was an age where a child needed his mother the most. Without the love and support of his mother, Zac found comfort and developed a passion for something that began to matter the most to him…music. At the ripe age of 13, Zac accomplished something that most kids his age can only dream about. Zac met and recorded a song with one of today’s biggest rap hit makers, Soulja Boy Tell Em. They recorded a song entitled “Ride Real Low” together and soon after, Zac found himself touring and traveling the country with Soulja Boy.
Shortly after coming off the road, Zac performed at an event in his hometown of Columbus where he was approached by reps from Sony Records. He began to record with some of the hottest producers including Chris Flame (producer of Gorilla Zoe’s “Hood Nigga) and Diesel (one of the producer’s from Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop”). After discussing several possibilities and opportunities, which sounded like a promising future, the offer fell through leaving Zac disappointed and confused. It was then that the 14 year old began developing trust issues and lost hope in the future of his
career.

He made the decision that he no longer wanted to pursue his dreams of being a rapper. His manager and confident, Julius stepped in and wouldn’t allow the teenager who had so much going for him give up just yet.
After taking a year break, Zac found himself back in a recording studio feeling bigger, better, and stronger than ever. While on a trip to Atlanta, Zac met another hot producer, Linx. Zac began to feel a strong connection with Linx and became more passionate about music after recording his song “Not Like This”. During this time, he began to record and explore with different genres of music including club and dance in a means to try and find himself.

In 2008, Zac made an appearance on one of the biggest music television shows, BET’s 106th & Park. It was there that Zac gave his star-defining performance where he received much love and recognition. BET was so impressed with the vibrant teenager that they asked him to write and record the theme song for their 2008 “Wild Out Wednesday” segment. From this great opportunity, Zac Fresh became a celebrity in his hometown gaining much respect and recognition from his community.
Fresh off his appearance on BET, Zac and his management team, Fambiz entertainment, met up with Atlanta producer Linx Kanek. Kanek saw potential in the budding star and offered Zac and his management a production deal with Kanek music. The deal with Kanek music enabled Zac to get in the studio with Linx Kanek to create a signature sound. The two worked hard for several months on material that complimented Zac’s melodic tone and wise-beyondhis- years lyrical ability. Zac’s first single, “Blame Yo Self Ft CyHi The Prynce” was a birthchild of one his long session with Linx Kanek and managed to capture the young rappers unique signature swag.
For now, it’s pretty safe to say that this cute, animated, and funky-fresh teenager is on the rise to stardom. Preparing for the release of his single through LRT/Ingroves Fontana/Universal . it doesn’t seem to end there. Zac believes the “sky is the limit” and eventually wants to make his mark on the big screen and become a successful businessman.
