Bio
Zacharius Carls Group never had a certain band or a musician as number one influence, but "root of all evil" in this case is mr. Zacharius Carl. A mythic figure who is said to be the Rasputin of Lapland in the beginning of the 20th century. Man who preached the bible and loved moonshine whisky to the max. Mostly notorious of seducing young girls in to weird "cleansing dances". Until he was thrown into the rapids of Tornio-river.
Well, what more does young music freaks need to start a band, than a story like this?
So before the new millennium Zacharius Carls Group had allready written loads of songs in their unique style: a mixture of progressive garage rock and melancholic yet uplifting alternative pop sounds.
Now based in Helsinki, the group has gained strong underground following through constant touring and a string of critically acclaimed albums.
The nicknames "Crazy Horse of Lapland" & "The David Lynch of Finnish rock" gives you somekind of hint of what the band is about...
