Biography

“It is always a good thing to welcome new songwriters into bluegrass music, and Bevill and Britt are fine examples of why we can confidently place this music into the hands of a new generation of artists.”

Windy City Rails

Written By: Zach Bevill

Endless faces in the crowd
It makes me wanna cry out loud
Who are you?

I’m a face here in the crowd
It makes me wanna shout out loud
Hey! This is me!

No one looks me in the eye
It’s just the way we live our lives

Windy city won’t you take me away
Where the rails and the rhythm are sound of the day
Drop me anywhere along the railroad line
I will walk, I will stumble, never seeking what I find

Here, the streets are paved with gold
Or maybe that’s just what I’m told
I will find myself

This is where our lives unfold
Or maybe that’s just what I’m told
I will lose myself

No one looks me in the eye
It’s just the way we live our lives

Windy city won’t you take me away
Where the rails and the rhythm are sound of the day
Drop me anywhere along the railroad line
I will walk, I will stumble, never seeking what I find

No one looks me in the eye
It’s just the way we live our lives

Windy city won’t you take me away
Where the rails and the rhythm are sound of the day
Drop me anywhere along the railroad line
I will walk, I will stumble, never seeking what I find

Holding On

Written By: Zach Bevill

As I listen to the crickets with their lullaby
The summer song they sing won’t help me out tonight
I’m thinking of the days that might’ve passed me by
And the hopefulness of youth that love will never die

But nothing in this world will last forever
And everything we know will go away
A foolish heart will want to let it linger
Well I’ll be a fool until my dying day

Growing up there’s nothing like the summertime
You’re free to live the life you wanna live everyday
The chains of life will hold you down as time goes by
And you’ll hold on to your youth with every step you take

But nothing in this world will last forever
And everything we know will go away
A foolish heart will want to let it linger
Well I’ll be a fool until my dying day

Holding on, I’m holding on
Holding on, I’m holding on

But nothing in this world will last forever
And everything we know will go away
A foolish heart will want to let it linger
Well I’ll be a fool until my dying day

James Robinson Blues

Written By: Zach Bevill

The James Robinson blues
Adored by none and loved by only few
The James Robinson blues
A curse he carried on his whole life through

James was a young man
his father worked the farm
James would help him in the field
He never meant no harm

James would run the combine
he'd sit high up at the helm
He didn't see his dad down on the ground
though he surely heard him yell

The James Robinson blues
Adored by none and loved by only few
The James Robinson blues
A curse he carried on his whole life through

With daddy gone he had to do
the work of two grown men
to feed the family that blamed him
for what had happened then

And love was only forced on him
from his mother's grieving heart
So he left the farm to find his way
and make a brand new start

The James Robinson blues
Adored by none and loved by only few
The James Robinson blues
A curse he carried on his whole life through

James ran away from everything he knew
He only came to learn you can't outrun the blues
Empty stares and crooked smiles don't really mean a thing
He needed love that only God could bring

The James Robinson blues
Adored by none and loved by only few
The James Robinson blues
A curse he carried on his whole life through
