Bio

Zach Mace began his musical journey at a young age. Instead of spending their nights in front of a TV, the Mace family sat around a stereo listening to scratchy records that sang the freedoms of an era swirling with change. The memory of his father's renditions of "Father and Son" and "Old Man" provides the foundation for his desire to change the world with loving and conscious music.

Zach began teaching himself how to play the guitar when he was 10-years-old by studying a torn and yellowing sheet of paper he found in his dad's guitar case. By the time he reached the seventh grade, he had played his fathers guitar so much that his parents purchased him his first electric. Three years later, while a sophomore in high school, and after learning hundreds of covers songs ranging from grunge tunes to classic rock and folk songs, Zach was introduced to theatre when he was offered a roll in Joseph and the amazing technicolor dreamcoat. His experience with the theatre would play a large role throughout the remainder of his high school career, and he excelled on the stage, performing in the leading roles in over a dozen productions, both professionally and within his school. After graduation, Zach attended the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point for musical theatre. Two semesters into his schooling, however, he became disillusioned with the higher education system, and decided to learn his lessons through adventure and travel. Instead of performing other peoples work, he longed to bring forth the passion inside his heart and move people with his songs of love and freedom.

In 2006 Zach and a few of his long-time friends formed Home, a soulful group driven by his powerful songs and dynamic vocals. Home quickly ascended to the top of the Denver music scene. During their time together, they have won spots playing at 10klf, Wakarusa and Summer Camp music festivals, as well as being invited to play Wookie Foot's Harvest fest two years in a row, and to return to Wakarusa.

In June 2008 Zach's father, Jeff Mace, passed-away after a short and devastating battle with cancer. Three months later, Zach became a father, himself. Zach's daughter, Quinn Cassidy Mace, would have been Jeff's first grandchild.

Currently Zach is performing both as a solo and as an electric act, using the trials and tribulations of his life to continually drive him to create music that not only moves the feet but enlightens the mind.
