Bio

Zach Tromp, was born as Zachary Trompower on June 5, 1992 in Canton, Ohio. Tromp was your quintessential high school slack-off, as he seemed destined to never live up to his full potential. Raised in Ft. Pierce, Florida, Tromp was placed into gifted programs during elementary and middle school. He then attended Lincoln Park Academy, a magnet school for the area’s brightest. It was far from a perfect fit; as Tromp constantly caused trouble. The “boy with huge things in his ears and a mullet hair-do” grew less and less concerned with school. With his mother in jail and his lenient father’s indifferent attitude, life at home only exacerbated his situation. Tromp dropped out of Lincoln Park late in his junior year.

After dropping out, Tromp began to realize that one of his greatest passions was rapping. His early musical interests included Blink-182, Led Zeppelin, and countless of other bands, ranging in genre from classic rock to metal to pop punk. It was not until Tromp was 16 years old that an interest in hip-hop started to develop. What started out as a carefree habit of freestyling with his friends, rapping gradually developed into a serious interest of hip-hop and performing. Despite endless enthusiasm, Tromp was not granted with the luxury of expensive recording equipment or a supportive hip-hop community; his talent was fostered by his own eagerness and will to succeed. After nearly two years of working at a pizza shop, Tromp had saved enough money to record his first mixtape, “The Underage Drinking Chronicles.” He also said goodbye to his hometown of Ft. Pierce, Florida, a city that had offered him little besides hardship and strife.

Shortly after moving to Sarasota, Tromp linked up with Ryan Pinkall, a Ringling film major whose credits include working on sets with Chris Brown, E40, French Montana, and Young Jeezy. With Pinkall’s assistance, Tromp elevated his musical style to new heights, ultimately culminating in the release of his latest mixtape, “If The World Doesn’t End.”

Zach Tromp’s versatile and dynamic sound incorporates a laid-back, slightly pessimistic and indifferent outlook on the world, combined with an upbeat, carefree flow that promotes living in the moment and feel-good vibes. Sometimes sentimental, sometimes aggressive, sometimes fast-paced, sometimes slow and melodic, and often compared to Mac Miller, Zach Tromp’s unique style is pleasing to the casual listener and the hip-hop stickler alike.
