Zack Cross

 Great Barrington, Massachusetts, USA

We are a modern jazz piano trio with a strong emphasis on group dynamics and interaction. Andy, Luke, and Zack are all highly skilled jazz players and have worked with the best in the field. Our music is a tasteful cross-section of several genres including contemporary pop, hip-hop, and rock.

Zack Cross is a 2010 graduate of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music with his BM in Jazz Piano Performance. During his time at IU, he was selected to participate in the Steans Institute for Young Artists in Jazz at the Ravinia Festival outside of Chicago, IL, where he studied with jazz legends Rufus Reid, James Moody, David Baker, and Nathan Davis.

Zack has studied and played with some of the most revered names in modern jazz, including Jerry Bergonzi, Marc Mommas, Vic Juris, Darius Brubeck, Michael Spiro, Randy Brecker, Jim Snidero, Steve Houghton, Mark Buselli, David Baker, Brent Wallarab, and Rob Dixon. He was subsequently nominated for the American Pianists Association’s Cole Porter Jazz Fellowship, currently the most prestigious award for jazz piano in the world. In July 2010, he helped organize a fundraiser for Haitian musicians, where he performed and raised over a thousand dollars.

In January 2011, the Zack Cross Trio recorded its first LP, entitled “Up/Under.” Since then, he has been performing with the fusion band Unfulfilled Desires, with whom he has performed at the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival, and overseas at Charlie Wright’s International, and the EnlightenNext Renaissance Festival.

In August 2011, Zack participated in the Hudson Jazz Works, in Hudson, NY. There he worked with an internationally selected group of musicians to study the art of duo and trio playing. The workshop was led by Armen Donelian and Marc Mommas.

I currently have one album to my name, entitled "Up/Under", recorded with two of my favorite players, Luke Angle and Andy Randazzo. The album can be streamed and/or purchased at
