Freeman still understands music via his instinct and his ears. Audience members often come to him after a set and ask him how much of it was made up on the spot. “All of it,� he says. Fiancée April Adams, also a musician, says audience members are struck by the originality of his act. “Nobody else does that, she says. “Every time someone sees him, it’s something they’ve never seen before.
