Bio

Zaedyus is folk progressive metal band from Argentina led by composer and drummer Ale Brukman.
Their music combines aggressive double bass drum and heavily distorted guitars with the sounds of South American folk instruments and powerful female vocals.
With English and Spanish lyrics, their song tells about myths and legends from Argentinian literature, where mythical characters take part on the songs.

The beginning of the band goes back to 2005. At that time, Ale Brukman starts writtening some songs that later on would be a part of a concept album named Patagonia. With this material, he gathers a bunch of musicians and with them the first line up of Zaedyus is established. Among them is Agustin Konsol, ex singer and Keyboardist.

Some issues between the members force the band to fall apart on the short term.
Years later, on 2009, Ale Brukman joins again with Agustin Konsol to record those songs that were written for Zaedyus, with the idea of working as a studio only project.

After the recording sessions, they decide to try again to conform a band and go on stage.

Then a new era begins, with new musicians and lots of rehearsing. Among them appears Sebastian Gallardo (ex guitarist) with whom they write songs like “Over The Cliff” and “42°S (The Wake Up Call)”, songs that would also be featured on Patagonia.
In 2011, Zaedyus goes on stage for the first time ever at “La Colorada Music Bar”.

Later on, some struggles within the musicians about the direction that the band should take, make the project to fall apart once again.

In the year of 2013, Ale Brukman writes and produces Santos Vega, a new audiovisual material based on the fundamental text of Argentinian literature. This masterpiece ends up as Zaedyus 2nd Album.

Santos Vega presents a true musical odissey: more than 10 musicians, female and male vocals, electric and acoustic instruments consolidates the sound of Zaedyus, a new breed of music where Progressive Metal and Argentinian Folk meet.

In 2014 Zaedyus goes back on stage to give a series of concerts in various local venues from Buenos Aires. The band take part in important music fests such as “Legendary Tales” and “La Plata Prog Fest”, the most important Prog Rock & Metal fest from South America, and they are nominated by the label Icarus Music as candidates to play along with Opeth in Buenos Aires.

In 2015, the band is chosen by Dirección General de Música de Buenos Aires (BA Music Administration) and Canal de la Ciudad (BA TV Channel) among 400 bands and soloists to participate on the show “Estudio Urbano - Proyecto Disco 2015”.

In October of this same year, Zaedyus takes part of FAUNA 2015, a four days festival that takes place at KONEX Cultural City, one of the most renowned venues in Buenos Aires.

In March 2016, Zaedyus 1st album Patagonia is remastered and released in digital format, with great acceptation from the international press, reviewed by "Prog Magazine" (UK) and "Fireworks" (USA).

In 2017 Zaedyus releases "Stories From The End Of The World" Their 3rd independent record.
