Help Is On The Way is dedicated to Zagnutt's fallen bandmate, Ray Crandall. The band held things together after Crandall passed away. Now they offer nine tracks that manage to find a happy medium between solid song structure and classic jam band mentality.
"Puppet Show" presents a view of the world where everyone is a puppet, a concept not too difficult for anyone living within the vanity of capitalism to imagine. On "Coelacanth", Darin McLean's percussion pulls the song together, but the clean acoustic lead makes the song shine. The latter half of the album consists of songs that are considerably slower and laid back. "Mellotonin" and "Birdo" focus on well-thought-out wordplay that sits among the mix of guitars.
The energy of a jam band is hard to duplicate on record, and despite some noble efforts, HelpIs On The Way doesn't capture the band's essence. From the opening moments of this album, it's clear that this is a band that would sound amazing several drinks into the night at your local pub, as friends raise a glass to a fallen comerade.

Zagnutt is an orginal band from Boston that plays upbeat groove and funk oriented rock in and around the greater New England area. Zagnutt was formed in 2000, and is made up of six veteran musicians from the local jam scene. Their fans know that Zagnutt consistently delivers an energetic live performance that keeps your feet movin and your booty shakin.

Since Zagnutt's inaugural gig in 2001 at the legendary Sculler's Jazz club in Boston, MA, they have played over 70 live shows throughout their hometown of Boston and throughout New England in support of their three full-length CD recordings. ZAGNUTT IN THE MEDIA:
The track 'Interstellar' from the newest Zagnutt CD release is featured in the Bands on the Rise CD Sampler accompanying all 102,000 print copies of the Feb/ Mar 2010 Relix SXSW special edition magazine.
The track 'Ceolacanth' from the 2005 CD 'Help is on the Way' was featured in an award winning short film called "the boom man" from Manning Road Productions in Hollywood, CA. The music of Zagnutt continues to be featured in internet and movie short features in the 'Shock Therapy' series also from Manning Road Productions.
