Born Zainab Agoro in Chicago, Illinois to Nigerian parents, Zaina spent her early years in the United States and the UK. Zaina’s entry into the entertainment industry came naturally. Her striking face and tall slender frame made her stick out in every setting. She immediately attracted the likes of industry professionals and scouts. She began her modelling career at the tender age of 6 posing and smiling for any camera in sight and not surprisingly, was featured in a number of print Ads in the U.S. By the age of 10 however, Zaina realized that her true passion was music. This love for music led her to pick up a few music instruments including the Tuba and the Trumpet.

Around 2005, a musically mature and well-rounded Zaina began her journey to stardom. After gaining modest popularity amongst the Nigerian community in the United States, she subsequently returned to Nigeria with the intention of bringing the Zaina experience home to the source of her roots. Though she had never lived in Nigeria, she developed a passion for her beloved Country and after several short trips over the last few years, she finally decided to make the bold move to relocate in December of 2010.

In her relatively short but exciting musical career, the singer/songwriter, model and actress has shot 3 music videos, received 2 nominations from the NEA awards 2008/2011 and has had the privilege to work with artists such as Eldee, Banky W, Styl Plus, Lynxx, Sauce Kid, Sasha, and many others. She has graced the same stage with the likes of D'banj and 2face. She was also a performer at the NEA 2011 awards in NYC.

In 2010, Zaina was introduced to the CEO of Soul Muzik. The chance meeting led to a collaboration with Soul Muzik's multiple award winning Rhythm and Soul sensation; Darey Art Alade, on a remix of his 2010 award winning hit 'The Way You Are'. The Soul Muzik Boss was instantly impressed by her talent and professionalism. In the months that followed, both parties continued to liaise on industry related projects. An official record deal would not take place until two years after the first official meeting. Zaina continued working on her solo projects while waiting for her big break in the Nigerian music industry.

Early 2012, Zaina released a single 'Carry Me Go' which enjoyed a fair amount of airplay on radio stations around Lagos, Nigeria. She also released the video for her American released single 'Moving On', while making apperances at a few industry related events around Nigeria.
Zaina signed a record deal with Soul Muzik in April 2012. Her first official single under the label; 'Lo Lo La' and 'Totally Yours'; a reggae infused duet with renowned reggae crooner Wayne Wonder, were released in September 2012.

Zaina is currently working on her first studio album, while promoting her recently released singles across Africa. The Album is projected to be truly refreshing musical experience bridging the gap between smooth African vibes and mainstream R&B/Pop. The album will also feature production from a combination of Nigerian and International Producers.
