""Tribes" by Zalem"

Entirely acoustic, this grand opus combines a number of inspiring influences from ragga/hip hop, rock and even trance. Genres that you might not imagine meshing together on a didgeridoo album, but under Zalem's imaginative guidance, the magic definitely works. Zalem Teamed up with talented multi-instrumentalist Robin Vassy on "Tribes" who lends unique percussive elements to his didgeridoo playing. Water Drums, kalimba, berimbao and other unique instruments percolate around the compositions making the listener want to rejoice in dance. - LA Outback

Zalem & Yshar, a didgeridoo/tribal fusion dance duet
Or the meet between two artists, two form of art...

This project began by the end of 2008, for music interests. The bassist Yshar met Zalem, the didgeridoo player from the fusion rock band JMPZ.

Dance then became as a new form of language, to express didg vibs. Indeed, Yshar also practices tribal fusion dance, an american form of bellydance, middle-eastern dances fused with hip hop, flamenco...
As for Zalem , he is one of a few to mix didgeridoo with...beatbox !

They had a common band : Wadhom which made several shows in France and abroad , including on the famous Isle of Wight.

In March 2010, Zalem released his first solos album "Tribes" which also meant the possibility to put "Zalem & Yshar" on stage! During the shows the two artists merge to offer an emotional and gracefull interpretaion of a middle-eastern, african colored music.

While the artists keep on working their art, new form of expression appear in the show (chinese shadow, fire dance to come)

The duet is also finally putting its electro influences in their tracks, working the introduction of bass guitar and machine effects.

Throughout their complicity, we will discover a large pan of visual and musical mood, their gift to the audience, a call for a journey...
