Bio

As a pianist, for years I had performed solo acts, often for several hours at a time. From the time I first set my hands upon a piano, I have always been able to find songs on the keyboard without much effort. Many hours were spent daily building my skills as a technical performer, while maintaining my ability to listen to what is being performed.

In 1999, I composed (while recording) an entire album on an 1885 Steinway Model C grand piano. The results of that one-night session are captured on "Etched In Stone". There are many nice passages and ideas in that album, though I admit, it is not a flawless session. I still have not figured out how I performed all of the pieces with only two hands.

Eventually, I was led to perform with other musicians in bands and ensembles. There, I would perform on either keyboard or guitar, depending on the group and set list. Performing with other musicians forced me to work on my phrasing and timing.

Then, luck went my way...

I consider myself a very lucky musician who took advantage of an opportunity to work directly with who I consider one of the world's greatest musical inspirations - Senegalese Rhythm Guitar Legend Mamadou Diop. His music has inspired me to revisit everything I ever knew about music. I have been a fulltime member of his band (MAMADOU) for 6 years.

More recently, I composed and recorded an album for my wife, Michelle. As a massage therapist, she is always seeking good music for use with her clients. The album, simply titled "Meandering - Soothing Soundscapes", was released in August of 2006.
