The best kept secret in music

“An intro that reminded me equally of Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Church, rootsy and spacy at the same time. The
song reminds me of something I would slap in to the 8 track while I stalked my ex around all the trailer parks in the
central valley of California in an old Ranchero while coming down off a meth and cheap beer binge. Don't ask me
why. I can see the band playing it for the barbacks sweeping up the club one week, then to an auditorium of blazing
lighters the next, everyone saying, "I knew them when."

Zander has had a #1 song, Rt 109, on 92.1 WCDQ before being taken over by the FNX Radio Network out of Boston.
Our current release, Home Again is available at, and (Boston Globe).

Zander is the work of former Northeast Performer senior writer Alex MacPhail. This is the last chance effort at capturing the prize with an endless stream of music that has been building inside myself for years. At 33 and taking 9 years to raise my drum prodigy daughter, it is time to finally make a move of my own. My music is across the board in the tradition of the Stones to the New York Dolls with a southern flair combined with a Buckcherry angst. Have opened for Edgar Winter, Luxx (featuring Ian Hatten of the Honeydrippers), Rick Derringer and more. Zander has been featured in the Boston Herald, Portland Press herald, Casco Bay Weekly, Performer Magazine, Soundcheck Magazine, New England, on radio and CSPAN with Howie Carr, the Sanford News, the Journal Tribune, Boston Phoenix and more.
