Biography

Debut album ‘Plug In,’ from Budapest, Hungary-based ZANZA, is a throwback to rock’s golden era of the early 1970s, wrapping elements of blues and folk into a cohesive melodic triptych of midtempo jams. Relying on groovy organ, piano, crisp percussion and both plugged-in and acoustic guitars, one can imagine Robert Plant, Lenny Kravitz or Jim Morrison joining in for a late-night onstage throw-down. Among the 14 tracks, “Grow” is an exemplary showcase for ZANZA’s slower, more sensual side, as lead singer/songwriter Lehel Kovács assures, “I’m a preacher in the sun, and I’m gonna love your heart, stop tears dripping down your face.” Blues-soaked “Woman Song” and “A Piece of All Other Things,” amp the tempo, displaying masterful guitar licks, as he teases in the latter track, “Oh, baby, I need you, I can give you my smile to show you my heart/I’m gonna crawl all over ya.” Since recording “Plug In,” Kovács has replaced a number of the original ZANZA players in an effort to ready the band for its first tour. Based on the songs here, they’re ripe for the road.”

A muvészetek természetes fejlodését segíti a megfelelo érintodési pontok megtalálása, összegyúrása, zanzásítása.
A ZANZA zenekar zenéjében a blues, jazz, funk elemek dögös groove-okkal, csípos harmóniákkal, karcos riffekel keveredve alkotnak vibráló, szökdelos, energikus táncolást, férfias melankóliát.

Lyrics

Grow

Written By: Lehel Kovacs

Ah, the city’s grey in the sun but I’m gonna roam in my heart; you said it’s grayed out.
The walking lights in love, hanging around the playground of a hug, again, road sign, yeah
Until you move around and grow
Until your mama let you go…, yea, yeah you alone

I’m a preacher in the sun, and I’m gonna love your heart, stop tears dripping down your face
By the rise of the moon buying every thing all for you, quote every chapter and verse, I’m tellin’ ya
Until you move around and grow
Until your mama let you go…, yea, yeah you alone

My green plain feeds my eyes, chasin’ rainbows, mirage, and recreate flight
I will stumble on the rise; hurricane child falls down, some day, all right
Until you move around and grow yea, yeah
Until your mama let you go…, yea, yeah you alone

Feelin’ like in the desert but what do my feelings deserve?
Faces covered by hands, counting every minute
As time goes by, time is on your side

A Piece Of All Other Things

Written By: Lehel Kovacs

I woke up seven days ago nobody seemed to be at home
I found a note on the wall saying that Baby I'm just gone
I should have known that time Oh! I'm gonna crawl all over ya'

Invited all my girls and boys drinking all night and day and on
I saw some paintings on the board shouting that baby I'm so bored
I should have known that time Oh! I'm gonna crawl all over ya'

Whatever you see is nothing more then just a piece of all other things
It guides you, how wise are you? It's all about... all sort of things
Oh Baby I need you, I can give you my smile to show you my heart
Try; try to believe that we can find another bright side of our love

I tried to call you all the time you said: it's just a waste of time
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no; no, no, no, no one, not once more
Waste of time, It's just a waste of time Oh! Baby, baby, baby!

Then you heard something that was just not the way that you ever thought
You try to pull me back but I'm not anymore on your side
You should have known that time Oh!

No, no, no, no, no, no

Woman Song

Written By: Lehel Kovacs

Inside, woman you gotta know, you gotta know
Sometimes men don't go home; you're scared every time they cross the street
I saw you standing there, holding me in your hands

By now time has gone
For love, loving all night long
It's hard to make your peace, when you know that it's real

Oh! You know it's a woman song
Sing for every one!
Yeah! That's been waitin' so long, long...waiting long, long, long

By now woman your soul is stronger, much stronger
But sun ain't shinin' any longer
It's a rainy day again, rainy day

Oh! You know it's a woman song
Sing for every one!
Yeah! That's been waitin' so long, long...waiting long, long, long

Oh!, Oh! Ooh!

Videken

Vidéken

Átfog a csend.
Nézd a napfény, a fõldrõl, ágról, szemeidbõl visszatükrözi a reményt.
Oh egy régi illat, a gáton, szénahalmon, tavak partján megborzol újraél.
Ahogy a napfény a földrõl, õsi illat feltör a ködbõl, felzúdul bennem az érzés, be jó itthon lenni.
Újra, minden alkalommal. újra érzem még.

Countryside

Silence encircles. Dawn breeze, whispers, trembles.
Her melody mild bluebell, blood melting bonfire.
Trust me when you walk on the dawn of dawns, through plain countrysides the silence goes.
Rustle of the past strolling down on a day mirror brook.
Trust me when you walk on the dawn of dawns, through plain countrysides the silence goes.
Look the sunlight, from the land, from a branch or your eyes reflects the hope
How an old fragrance on the dam, heap of hay or at the coast of the lakes ruffles
As the sunshine from the soil, an ancient fragrance flush up from the fog and shows me how good to be at home.
Again, all the time, again I feel the same.
