"Zanzinger – “Seasonal Winds”"

Swift woodwinds and twangy guitars accompany the warm vocals of Daniel Micsoda on the track “Seasonal Winds,” the latest release from Zanzinger. Micsoda is a Budapest-based artist who fronts the project, taking inspiration from “American folk genres, experimental jazz and literary focus on English romanticism and American transcendentalism.” The dense imagery, woodwinds, and stirring vocals remind of classics from Van Morrison and Cat Stevens, while also injecting a modern charm. The guitar solo at 03:15 is particularly effective, serving as a nice bridge from the more serene folk-leaning verses. “Seasonal Winds” is a success that’s the audible equivalent of a fresh, warm breeze on a spring day. - Mike Mineo

Seasonal Winds - debut LP, December 2018

Singer-songwriter Daniel Misota began to play music while touring the world with small theatre projects in his late teens and early twenties. He started writing songs as a personal practice that didn’t remain unnoticed for long. In 2015 one of his song was among the best local tracks of the year chosen by the biggest news site in Hungary called and their audience. Daniel is not only active as a musician but also directs commercials and music videos and he’s famous for his excitement about surprising and unusual expreiences. He’s already organized a set of concerts in his own apartment; he founded a record label and he recorded a live video EP at a chapel in rural Hungary. With musical interest in american folk genres and literary focus on English romanticism and american transcendentalism his performing style has been influenced by late delta blues greats while his songwriting has stronger ties with late 60s early 70s folk artists like Nick Drake or Tim Buckley. His musical style has transformed a lot during the past few years and he just arrived to another milestone: he released his debut album ’Seasonal Winds’ in Autumn 2018 which is a dynamic, playful but yet a very clever and deep piece of art. The album was chosen as one of the best Hungarian albums by a very popular pop cultural magazine called Phenomenon. 2019 is just a new beginning for Zanzinger. He’s already booked for Live At Heart Festival in Örebro, Sweden.
