Tired of walking around in singer/songwriter land where gigs are rare and guitars do not produce enough volume, she just couldn’t stand it anymore hence this band. One that rocks. One with guys…. Nice!

The singer herself is quite acquainted with the music world. With her former band Ysis she would play on pop stages throughout the country every week. Furthermore, with Ysis she played on radio 3, radio 2 and on the Liberation Day’s festival in Zwolle and on Oerol. The singer has already proven herself as a singer/songwriter who can grasp the audience, but is now ready to seize the role of bandleader.

Inge decided to seek for same-minded people through the musician’s website MySpace. It didn’t take long for Dennis Elderman to contact her and ask for her musical goals. Enthousiastically Inge shouted she wanted to conquer the world; the deal was sealed…

Dennis provided the band with bass player Michael Nieuwenweg and guitarist Allard Gosens. Within two months the band managed to win a competition, which lead to a place at the mainstage of festival Summersquare, hosting bands as Voicst, Leaf and Extince. ZaZa will also play at Eurosonic.

ZaZa makes popsongs with now and then a nice touch of rock, but at other times a hint of folk can be detected. The beautiful folk-song ‘She didn’t cry’ is in pleasant contrast to the cheerful popsong ‘Beautifully’. A parallel can be drawn with bands such as Feist, Jeff Buckley, Nick Drake and Sia. Recently, the band produced their first EP consisting of five very diverse songs, bearing the striking name of “What are you waiting for”…
