"Oriental Theater"

"Zebra Junction is one of my favorite bands...their eclectic sound - which mixes bluegrass with what seems to be a million other influences - is like nothing I have ever heard before. These guys have a great future in the music business - I know I'm pulling for them."
Scott Labarbera - The Oriental Theater - Oriental Theater

"Barefoot Radio"

"I'm absolutely loving [the album] Orange Porridge."

"Denver Westword"

Multi-instrumentalists Flitz Alan (Shawn Palmer) and Micah A. Lundy make up this fun and unassuming duo that strums, stomps and harmonizes its way through a dozen upbeat variations of acoustic Americana. Along with bluegrass-inflected numbers about the joys of drinking corn and the burdens of conquering fear ("Honey," "Chickens Will Sing"), the album features a sea chantey from a whaling widower ("Going Home") plus a brass-charged, Muppet-baiting scat ("Small H2O Blues"). The album's most adventurous track, "Vanity" (my vote to replace the theme music for America's Next Top Model), blends clavinet, jaw harp, flute loops, a Playskool tape deck and a bowed upright bass into a cautionary tale on the nip-tuck craze. Co-engineered by Columbine survivor and keyboardist Richard Castaldo, Waterborne boasts cameos from banjo ace Armando Zuppa and seagull impersonator Maceo the Cat. There's also plenty of meandering cosmic commentary from Thom Knox, who espouses the philosophy of Zeb: something that involves hobos, harmonicas and thinking "outside the circle." - John La Briola, Sept. 2005

"Red Rocks Ampitheatre"

This is fresh, exciting and sonically vibrant! I am so excited to not only enjoy Waterborne, but to have had Zebra Junction play Red Rocks. This is a must-have piece of art! - Erik Dyce

"KCUV FM Denver"

Zebra Junction's Waterborne is what Pink Floyd would have sounded like if they grew up in the backwoods of West Virginia...I like it! - Zak Phillips

"Radio 1190, Boulder"

The always original Zebra Junction's new album Waterborne, exhibits a fierce swirl of creativity threading together down home simplicity with danceable grooves. A definite triumph!! - Kaitlyn Curtin, DJ

"The Colorado Wave"

If you are looking for music from another world, another planet, Zebra Junction just might be the ticket. Get a copy of their latest album Waterborne...sit back, relax, and enjoy the cosmos. - Carmen Allgood, producer

"99.5, The Mountain - Homegrown Show"

"This is an unbelievable disk...a sick record! You've got to get out and see these guys live." - Jake Schroeder

ZEBRA JUNCTION IS A POWER DUO OF SEXTET PROPORTIONS

Profiled as one of the regions' top bands to watch in 2008, Zebra Junction is currently celebrating the release of their third studio effort, Pomme de Terre. Literally meaning "Apple of Earth", Pomme de Terre, captures the true unrefined nature of Zebra Junction.

Working with a collection of rare, hybrid and homespun instruments, this power duo's Vaudeville approach includes "creative" percussion, baritone guitars, and such unconventional instruments as the banjo-ukulele, a hyper-modified Playskool tape deck used for "scratch", toy piano, and numerous samplers and effects to morph "old school" into "no school".

If Tom Waits fronted the White Stripes with a smattering of Radiohead technology, you might have a sound like Zebra Junction!

The Summer of 2007 saw ZJ playing in front of sold out crowds at the world famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Denver's prestigious Paramount Theatre, as well as being nominated for the third time as one of Denver's best bands.
