z.electric

Formed in 2009, z.electric assumed their current 3-piece format in early 2010 when joined by vocalist Jasmine Bee. z.electric have been focusing for the past year on building a solid live set and establishing a fan base with a view to releasing initial tracks on digital distribution. Throughout 2009 and 2010 as z.electric have had increasing exposure, they have evolved from an opening/support group (supporting Phil Hartnoll of ‘Orbital’ at Brixton Jamm in summer of 2009) to headlining at notable London locations including 229, Wall Bar, Hoxton Underbelly, the Lexington, Punk, the Aldgate Castle and the Fiddler’s Elbow in Camden. In February of 2010 they were invited to support Jayson Norris at the Winston Kingdom in Amsterdam, proving that their style of accessible DnB/dubstep is not limited to the London dance/rave community. Style and influences: z.electric’s fresh approach to electronic music, incorporating drum and bass elements of dance music with pop/rock song structures and live instrumentation (guitar and woodwind) results in an accessible, cross-genre soundscape that appeals to a wide audience. Key influences and inspiration include Massive Attack, London Elektricity, Beck, Joe Satriani and Fat Freddy’s Drop. This diverse range of influences is evident in z.electric’s songs, ranging from drum and bass, through dub, jazz, funk and blues, to pop and electro-folk, kept consistent and brought together by driving bass lines and magnetic stage presence and charisma.
