"GW's Bass Guitar Magazine review of "Grand Unifed Chaos", April 2007"

Adam Tanner, aka ZenBeer, chooses to keep it simple, so the writing and atmosphere carries the weight. - Guitar World's Bass Guitar Magazine

"Bassnutz.com review of "Grand Unified Chaos""

While Zen Beer is different from many other experimental projects, you can't help but to appreciate the musical talent that backs it up. Adam is an incredible bassist, and knows what notes to play to keep you right where he wants you to feel from his craft. - Bassnutz.com

"Junior's Cave August 2009"

Adam Tanner is a one man musical arsenal known as ZenBeer. The Canadian artist has managed to create something that is magical and mystifying. The track "Whisper in the Sea" is a wonderful piece that illustrates the artist's enormous talents especially when it comes to string basses. That is the best part to his music; the mastery of 4, 5, 6 and 9-string basses. Add the skills of live looping and sample manipulation and fans will enjoy the music from ZenBeer. - Junior's Cave Online Magazine

Bio

Zen Beer. This is your brain on bass.

After a series of interesting home recordings (later re-released), Zen Beer's debut full-length album Grand Unified Chaos was recorded in 2005.

Zen Beer performed at the 2007 Lodo Bass Bash in Denver, CO with the likes of Jean Baudin, Yves Carbonne, Jeff Schmidt, Trip Wamsley and Darren Michaels.

Largely due to his solo bass work, Adam was sponsored to attend the Winter NAMM show in Anaheim, California - the largest music industry trade show in the world - in 2008 and 2009 by Bee Basses and APC Basses, respectively. Adam also endorses JAF Basses (www.jafbasses.com).

2009 has seen the release of the third Zen Beer disc, Bass, the Universe and Everything, and another solo performance at the Denver Bass Bash.

Thus far in 2010, Zen Beer has undergone a complete transformation from solo bass guitar into full-blown electronica with eleven remixes of previous songs. These remixes represent an exciting injection of energy into songs already renowned for their innovation, melody and musicianship.

An eclectic mix of styles ranging from ambient to funk to progressive rock, the ZenBeer experience involves extended-range basses, intricate layered loops, percussion, highly melodic leads, effects both subtle and crazy, and much more. The result is a surprisingly full sound, leaving the listener with an experience like no other, added to an engaging and entertaining stage show. This is most definitely not your average bassist.
