Bio
The Zeno’s Eros project was founded in 2001 by dynamic, award winning spoken word artist Gabrielle Zane and nationally known progressive guitarist Ludent Tremmel (Anglions, Strange Attractor, GNO) with the mission of merging spoken word poetry, and progressive music. Based in the hills of Windham Connecticut, Zeno's Eros has become an open community of musicians and artists that appreciate the energy of working and creating outside the boundaries of genre. Although spoken word with musical backing is nothing new, Zeno's Eros takes its influence from the Beat and Surrealist movements and creates an alternative sound that combines an eclectic mix of spoken word, chant, song, jazz, world beat, and tribal music by focusing on the collaborative elements brought in by the various styles of the accompanists. Music Scholar and critic Vernon Fraser has said of the band, “[Zeno's Eros’] fusion of music with poetry advances the tradition that began with [the] bohemian poets and continued through the Beats to the present day.” Zeno’s Eros has played in environments ranging from cafes and coffee houses to art openings, poetry readings, street fests and rock venues.
