Zephyranthes is a futuristic indie band that brings a sound drenched with math, noise, and punk to each song. The Raleigh-based group weaves surprising levels of melodic sensibility and songwriting style into their dense compositions and tightly structured Naked City-esque improvisations. Since releasing their debut EP in March of 2016, the group has focused on building renown with their spontaneous live show. "Last time I saw these guys was at the cave and it was so damn pure rock and roll I drank four spelunker special and almost broke the door on the way out. " said one fan, Joe Wright, of their first outing.
The trio formed out of Guitarist and Writer Elijah Melanson's need for a conduit after the breakup of his previous internationally-touring group, Helicopria. Joined by the Jazz-inflected sound of drummer Michael Lamardo, and the multi-instrumental and vocal talents of Logan Maxwell, the group was completed in late 2015.
