"Rock'n in Jax"

Yesterday’s Gravy, Zu, Loxstep, Zero 4 and Eight Foot Stride all showed up to a nearly packed house to put on the type of show that reminded us all what is so impressive about the local rock scene.
At this point, the crowd seemed to push towards the stage and remained there for the rest of the evening.

After Zu, Zero 4 hit the stage, and there was little slowing down from there. Every Zero 4 show seems to get better and better. With the addition of a new sound man, who knows exactly how the band is supposed to come across live, and the semi-recent addition of former Slavemachine bassist, Kevin Reeves, Zero 4 has taken their live show to a new level. The energy between the band and the crowd was intense and vocalist Joe Cottle seemed to harness that energy to near perfection.

Zero 4 has accomplished nearly all that is to be accomplished around Jacksonville. Definitely the next step for these guys will be the trials of the road. It will be interesting to see how the rest of North Carolina and the Southeast receive Zero 4.

Bio

The ZERO 4 story beginz in a garage late 2003. With Brad(rythm guitarist), and Kenny(lead guitarist) writing, piecing, conjur'n up some riffz, and after a couple of monthz deciding to look for the missing pieces of the band. They found Joe(lead vocalz), whom Brad had played with before on several occasions, and invited him to come over for practice. After hearing the range and seeing the indepth lyrical visionz, they asked him to join. Then came Jesse(drumerboy). How and where, have no idea, he just like showed up. Jesse actually worked with Brad and Kenny, but was quiet and noone knew he could play. He wasnt approached until someone recommended him. Thank god for that. After several months of writing music and piecing itself together with memberz from all over the US, the band finally hit the stage summer of 2004. They quickly developed a huge following, but they still felt something was missing. Then in late 2005 Kevin(bass guitarist) came over from Reality Entertainment signed "Slavemachine" to wrap up the crew. Our influences include-Alice in Chains, Sound Garden, Metallica, Tool, Staind, Korn, GNR, Slayer, Pantera, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Pantera, Sevendust, Unearth, Slipknot-(just to name a few!)
