Looking at the band’s Facebook page, it’s hard to ascertain much more than ZeroBeat’s fascination with chimps holding guns or chimps getting ready to go into space. Instead, it’s better to just jump to video of the band playing and then get busy picking your jaw up off the floor as a human drummer plays the kind of beats that would make a drum machine soil its shorts. As the drummer hammers away with unbelievable precision, his partner wrenches squelches, bleeps, and creeps out of guitars, laptops, and assorted gadgetry to create live electronic music that pushes way past any perceived human performance limitations for the genre. - A.V.
