Bio

He doesn’t do it for the money. He doesn’t do it for fame. He doesn’t do it so the industry could know his name. Many have questioned….So what does he do it for? Born Henry C. Murphy, Zerubbabel is definitely setting the standard for today’s music. With anointed filled lyrics, Zerub brings forth the idioms of Christ not only in his music but lifestyle as well. But this was not always the case.

Prior to gaining exposure to the Christian Rap industry, the artist formerly known as Henn Dogg, was one of the many pioneers of street music in Savannah, GA.

“I am no stranger to the art form of rap music. I have been embarked in music since I was twelve. Back in “99” my passion for the craft drove me to do a solo album titled, ‘Streets is Wicked.’ This gave me major street popularity throughout the south. It wasn’t until 2000, when I began to feel the tug of God in my life although I was still running the streets.” ~Zerub~

In 2001, Henn Dogg (formerly known as) completed another gangster rap album titled “Another Day, Another Grind” which was the follow up to his first album. By the grace of God, this album was never released. God then started interceding in his life more visibly that same year. It was then he began to recognize that God was keeping him for a greater purpose beyond his understanding.

As Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, and he will make your paths straight.”

He gave his life to the Lord in December 2003. Through grace and uncommon favor, God impregnated Zerub with his music ministry.

“I put the pen down and followed hard after God for 5 years. He then built up my character to go along with my gift.”~Zerub~

During this time, Zerub began to take some Bible classes and took the time to saturate in the word of God. This time was pertinent for his walk with Christ. Since then, he has embraced his calling and devoted his life for the cause of bringing souls into the Kingdom through teaching and music.

“I know longer give glory to the street life but to him who has made a new creation in Christ.”~Zerub~

Now a Husband to his beautiful wife Kaleathia, and a Father to three beautiful children, Tika, Brianna, and Henry Murphy III, Zerub’s first ministry is his family.

“My husband is witty. He's always keeping me laughing or smiling. He finds the humor in any situation. I love his bubbly personality. People are drawn to him because of it. He loves being around people. Let's just say he's very culturally diverse. On the other hand; he's a thinker. He's very goal-orientated.. Always writing a plan, which he always executes and accomplishes. He's a neat and very organized person. He does not like things out of order. He believes in us having a date day or night. He doesn’t think he's romantic, but he is. I'm always getting little gifts, nothing costly but things to say that he loves me. But I know how he feels about me by way he looks at me. After 15 years together (11 years of marriage), that says much. I truly know that my husband puts me second and God first. I believe every marriage should have that order. Yet as a Father he is firm. He strongly believes in our children earning every and anything they receive from us or others. Don't get me wrong he is a nurturer but more of a disciplinarian. He enjoys spending time with us and tries to take each child out individually. I am pleased to say he's an awesome DAD!” ~Kaleathia~

Furthermore, his new album “The Remastered Project” tells it all. With the songs like “Let it Go”, “Could’ve been Me, and “Confessions”, these songs will most def jar your soul and illuminate your heart. Now with all this said; anyone can make an album, shoot a few lyrics here and there and portray the lifestyle but Character speaks loud and clear beyond any banging track. I can truly say that this brother has the heart of Christ and his fellow co-laborers can attest as well.
