"One of the strongest American duos out there! Great vocals, great instrumentals. We love this Pair!" Bill Margeson / National Public Radio 2006
"You'll have guessed from the names that STONECROSS has some exotic blood. The latest Band from the US to capture our ATTENTION!" Pay the Reckoning 2005
"BRILLIANT!" Tommy Murphy Midwest Radio-IRELAND-2006

KNOWN for the past 6 years as one of the Best Irish Duos that tour throughout the US and Ireland, Siusan O'Rourke and Zig Zeitler have been booking equally as many dates recently showcasing their own Originals and Americana Roots Music.

Well founded on strong vocals and woven together with a broad mix of instrumentation, they have been bringing their music to fans of American traditional and Irish Music at festivals, special performances and workshops throughout the Midwest, East Coast, and across the ocean. Siusan O'Rourke on guitar, is the lead vocalist, a true alto and a second generation Irish American from Brooklyn, New York who was mentored by her family.

As of Late she has been writing and performing many of her own tunes which are written with the flavor of some of the best Americana Roots material this side of the turn of the Century.. wonderfully crafted and Catchy as a Cold!

The instrumental landscape is accomplished by the remarkably versatile musician and songwriter, Ziggie Zeitler. Zig's background is Blues and World Music, and he toured extensively and had a successful run with his Zydeco Cajun Band for many years. He has 16 CDs of his own and has written and arranged songs for several other artists. He has a wonderful open style to his leads on Bouzouki while peppering it with the rhythms of other World Music. Zeitler brings crisp leads on the mandolin, banjo, guitar and harmonica thrown in for the rebels of the crowd. They have performed at some of the Largest Venues throughout the Midwest including Chicago, New York, Puerto Rico and Ireland. However, they are equally at home in small intimate settings, always connecting with their audiences.
Siusan and Zig are outstanding performers and instructors and they are available for workshops and clinics.

Lyrics

Immigrant Heart

Written By: Siusan O'Rourke

Like stones on land, the faces of loved ones stayed firm in their minds,
And they strained to hear as voices called out while they sailed from their site,
And lo, in the wake of the ship that was leaving,
stood a family now shattered and battered and scarred,
For their loved ones were off on a ship bound for Brooklyn,
with the rest to remain back in old Castlebar.

From a sea of fear their comfort came knowing so many before,
Had left loved ones dear, to search out a life on American shores.

And the sight of the moon hanging low over Brooklyn,
Well, it seemed like a dear friend from old Castlebar,
Still recalling it's light on the bogs and the pastures, while here in New York shown on concrete and tar.

And the sight of the moon hanging low over Brooklyn,
Well, it seemed like a dear friend from old Castlebar,
Recalling it's light on the bogs and the pastures, while here in New York shown on concrete and tar.

As the years weighed on and families gathered their old and their young,
You can still feel lost at names never spoken on tips of their tongues,
Though their journeys are long for years in the making,
Well, their tender young souls never traveled that far,
While their feet found their way to the paved streets of Brooklyn,
Their immigrant hearts never left Castlebar.
