Zimuns' first steps were given by Matéria Prima, Rafa Nunes, Rafael Bizzotto e Ravel Veiga in July, 2008.
Around the same time,MC Castilho and the beatmaker CoyoteBeatz were in the lab producing an e.p, to be released digitally through a label called Serrasônica.
First, Castilho, Coyote and Ronaldo Gino, the labels owner, thought that it would be better to produce an album with organic sounds instead of sampling, avoiding legal problems.That's when Zimun was invited by Castilho to translate the sounds of the beats into their music. From there, it became a solid union.The e.p, with 5 songs, entitled "Alcançando o Céu com o Pés no Chão", was released in 2011 and, from the beggining, it was critically acclaimed.
Frequently doing shows, Dedig was invited to join the group playing guitar.The shows were well received and the band started to find space.
In 2011, producer and musician Lenis Rino suggested one recording session with the band in his studio, Sala da Toscaria. It became an E.P named “Surreal”, with four tracks. At the same time, Gabriel Bruce was invited to play drums.
The band also created a festival called Zimundo, that blends different music styles, visual arts and gastronomy.
